Donnie Flex
My journey began somewhat unexpectedly when I moved from Maryland to Los Angeles in 2013, shortly after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in Communication and Digital Media. Looking for a fresh start and new experiences, I arrived in LA without a job or a clear career plan. I worked various jobs to make ends meet while trying to find my footing in this new city. After some odd jobs, I landed my first role as a production assistant on the reality show Flex & Shanice. That opportunity quickly sparked my passion for production, and soon after, I secured my first Associate Producer role on the reality series Brew Dogs. This experience took me around the world and cemented my love for producing. Over the years, through hard work and dedication, I’ve had the privilege of working with top-tier media companies.
As a former Director of Production at Paramount and two-time Emmy Award winner for my work on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, I’ve had the opportunity to produce content for major networks like MTV, Nickelodeon, and CBS. This experience has provided me the skillset that spans creative development, end-to-end production management, strategic budget planning, and leading cross-functional teams. I’ve learned how to keep projects on track, stay within budget, and still deliver great results. I’m proud of the work I’ve done and grateful for the amazing people I’ve worked with.
